Pickleball Court Dimensions
Understanding the dimensions of a pickleball court is a great way to improve your understanding of the game and its rules. Whether you are marking off. court in your driveway or looking to build a multi-court complex, understanding the dimensions are important.
Pickleball Court Dimensions
Per USA Pickleball rules, a regulation pickleball court is 44 feet long by 20 feet wide. Courts are split in half lengthwise by the net, creating two 22 foot long halves. Each half is comprised of the non-volley zone, otherwise known as the kitchen, and two service areas, a left and a right. The first 7 feet out from the net makes up the kitchen with the two service areas making up the remaining 15 feet. The service zones are split in half widthwise, creating two 10 foot by 15 foot rectangles at the baseline.

Net Height
Due to the smaller court size, pickleball nets are shorter than those on tennis courts. Nets should be 36 inches tall at the posts and 34 inches tall in the middle. Purchase your own pickleball net here from our preferred net partner.

Important Rules
- Serves must land in the service area diagonally crosscourt from where you served
- Players may not volley while in the kitchen
- A volley occurs when a player hits the ball before it bounces on their side
- If the ball hits the line of the court it is considered in, not out
- Unless the ball hits the non-volley zone line on a serve, then the serve is considered short and thus a fault
