How UTR-P Rating Works:
The UTR Pickleball Rating (UTR-P) is for players of all ages at all levels from beginner to pro. Players with match results see a rating on a numerical scale of 1-10.0. Players without enough match results will receive a provisional rating (P1-P5) based on questionnaire results. The rating automatically converts from provisional to numerical and moves up or down based on results after a few matches. Ratings update every 24 hours.
This rating system ranges from 1 to 10, representing a spectrum of skill levels. Provisional ratings are as follows:
P1: Beginner
P2: Social/Casual
P3: Intermediate
P4: Advanced
P5-10: Expert/Pro

Sync your official UTR-P rating to your PicklePlay profile!
PicklePlay makes it easy to sync your UTR-P rating with your PicklePlay profile through our seamless integration. To sync your rating, go to "view profile" and then the "pencil (or edit) icon". Scroll to the bottom and you will see an option to "Connect with UTR Sports".
This will prompt you to sign in if you already have a UTR account. Don't have an official UTR-P rating yet? Scroll down and choose to "Join now". This will prompt you to enter the information necessary to set up your account. You can also connect with Facebook but we recommend creating an account with an email.
Once you complete the necessary info, it will ask you a short series to question including if you want to get rated for tennis, pickleball, or both. Based on how often you play and your level of play, it will assign you a rating. You can then hit the "go back" option. Choose "continue" and then "authorize" PicklePlay to connect with UTR Sports. You will now see your rating in your profile in the upper right corner and down below for both singles and doubles.
You are now set and your UTR-P rating should be connected to your account. If you have any issues, you can email us at info@pickleplay.com. Getting rated helps you to connect with the right people in the right skill set. If ever needed, there is also an option to disconnect your UTR-P rating from your account.

What is Verified UTR-P?
The UTR Pickleball Rating (UTR-P) does treat verified results and unverified results differently. Only results from third-party sources, such as USA Pickleball & APP, count for a player's Verified UTR-P Rating. The Verified UTR-P rating maintains a strong, consistent accuracy and is extremely stable and not susceptible to results for unreliable sources.
