PicklePlay Recap for 2024
As we come to the end of 2024, we want to reflect and celebrate a year of growth, enhancement, and success. Our team continued to enhance the user experience with some major app updates, new features, and new club options to make managing your club–whether big or small easier than ever! Let's review some of the major highlights of 2024.
One of our primary goals is to continue to grow our PicklePlay community to help more people find courts, players, events, and manage clubs and groups. We grew our community to almost 150,000 users, grew our clubs and groups, and strengthened partnerships across the pickleball industry.
PicklePlay introduced several great features and updates throughout the year. Here is a brief recap of some exciting updates in 2024.
Club+ Subscription benefits:
One big feature our team was excited to introduce was new Club+ Subscription options. This includes the ability to run round robins, leagues, collect payments for events and/or membership dues, and a discounted Pro membership to club members. Watch for more exciting announcements to come in 2025 for Club+ Features.
Pro user benefits:
PicklePlay Pro users can now enjoy family accounts which allow you to manage multiple members in the same account so you don't have to log out and log back into other accounts to manage family members. Pro users can also add events to their calendar and enjoy an ad-free experience in the app.
Free version benefits:
One of the big improvements for the free version of PicklePlay included a new home screen dashboard for the PicklePlay App creating a more streamlined and simpler navigation and more visually appealing home screen. You can now easily see the full navigation for courts, players, clubs/groups, and events that are near you right on the home screen.
New map filters were also added and the ability to login on both web and mobile making it more convenient to access for clubs and groups.
Along with these new features added, our development team worked to make some great improvements to the app to enhance the overall user experience. Many of the updates that PicklePlay enhances is driven by insights gathered from our valuable community of users. User feedback is key for our team to continue creating a more user-friendly and engaging experience.
Another exciting event that happened in December is the acquisition of PicklePlay with UTR Sports (Universal Tennis Rating), which will be game-changing for PicklePlay. With the backing of UTR Sports, PicklePlay will be able to accelerate plans to launch new features in 2025 that will further enhance the experience for players. As part of the acquisition, PicklePlay will introduce a series of exciting new features in early 2025. You can read full details of the acquisition here.
